Sabudana Vada or Sabudana Wada is a very tasty Indian snack prepared with sabudana or sago, potatoes and a mix of spices. I have prepared these sabudana vada in appam / paniyaram pan. These sabudana vadas use very less oil and are light & healthy. These vada are originated from Maharashtra and popular all over India. It is one of the most popular snack made for fasting days like Janmashtami , Maha Shivratri. You can serve these vadas as starters or tea time snack with any chutney of your choice.

Hey everyone! :)

Sabudana Vada


Sabudana/ sago ½ cup soaked
Boiled potato 2
Coriander leaves
Green chilli
Cumin seeds
Ground nuts ¼ cup


Roast ground nuts, till golden brown. Then grind them in a jar.
In a mixing bowl, take potatoes and mash them well, add in this the soaked sago, coriander leaves, green chilli, cumin seeds, salt acc to your taste (sendha namak if you are making for fast). Now mix everything well to form a dough..
Now keep the oil in a kadhai to get hot..
Till then shape your sabudana vadas to the desired shape, i am making small round paties.
Now oil has been heated up.. fry the sabudana vada in medium flame and then after in high flame...
Fry till golden brown.. your crispy and tasty sweet little golden brown sabudana vada or sago vadas are ready...


serve it with some green chutney or sauce or curd...
